BreastFeeding Week(Aug 1-7)

Breasteeding is one of the most effective ways to ensure child health and survival. However nearly 2 out of 3 infants are not execlusively breastfed for the recommended 6 months.

Breast feed is the ideal food for child. Breast milk is the perfect source of nutrition. It keeps baby healthy. It is safe, clean, and contain antibodies which hep to protect against many common childhood illness. Breast milk provides all type of energy and nutrients that the infant needs for the first month of life. Breast feeding women have lots of benefit like reduction in risk of breast and ovarian cancer, Type II Diabetes, hypertension.

Global fact 3 in 5 babies are not breastfeed in the first hour of life. Over 8 lakhs children could be saved yearly if all children 0-23 months were optimally breastfed. Only 41% of infants under 6 months of age are exclusively breastfed.

Severe Lower respiratory disease

Acute Otitis Media

Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)

Gastrointestinal Infection

In Nepal Every year August 1-7 we celeberated the breast feeding week.breastfeeding is commen in nepal most of the child 99% breastfed and more then half of the children breastfed within the forst hour of the life.83% of children age in 6-8 month are breastfed and receive complementary foods.provience 5 have good records then others provience in breastfeeding.
